| THE CENTER'S INTERNATIONAL MEDIA SEMINAR- March 20-24 Students from the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and their professors will be involved in a week-long exposure to the global media scene, effectively providing an in-depth international learning experience without the commitments and costs involved in conventional full semester or year-abroad programs. The International Media Seminar features 20 hours of seminars, panels, discussions and tours, spread over a five day period, with time allocated for social events and touring. Speakers include a variety of global senior communication leaders representing the worlds of newspapers, magazines, television, marketing, academia and government. Participants will enjoy private briefings at media headquarters, government offices, the US embassy, television and radio studios, newspaper newsrooms, and media museums. The seminar takes place in various buildings at The American University of Paris.
Lined up for the seminar: The Nation Media Group, telling Africa's story. Diana Kasyoka and Asenath Okoth, visiting students on the Annenberg Scholarship, and journalists from the Nation Media Group in Kenya will present a paper. The Nation Media Group, telling Africa's story . James R. Gaines, A longtime journalist and the former editor of several magazines, including Time and People , and author of An Evening in the Palace of Reason: Bach Meets Frederick the Great in the Age of Enlightenment will be one of the key speakers at the Seminar. Anwar Hossain Mondal , Deputy Editor of the Global News Network in Dhaka, Bangladesh will also be in attendance. Other speakers will be from French Television and Radio, newspapers, AUP media and journalism professors, including CNN Journalist Jim Bittermann and TV and documentary Producer Pat Thompson.
