The G.W./Annenberg Scholarship for International Communications was established at the bequest of Gregory Annenberg Weingarten enabling students from developing countries to study journalism in the department of International Communications at The American University of Paris. In addition to attending courses, each scholarship student meets personally with leaders in the fields of Media and International Affairs.

The International Journalism Scholarships were established in memory of Flora Lewis, one of the foremost foreign affairs commentators, and in memory of the internationaly renowned journalistic humorist, Art Buchwald. They support aspiring journalism students. The first awardee was from Zimbabwe.

During the past decade, the Center enabled fourteen Cambodian journalism students to study for one year at the American University of Paris.
